Daurian steppes are a vast region situated at the junction of the borders of three states Russia, Mongolia and
China. Dauria International Protected Area (DIPA) was created here in 1994. It includes:

• Daursky State Nature Biosphere Reserve (Russia);

• Dalainor Biosphere Reserve (China);

• Mongol Daguur Strictly Protected Nature Area (Mongolia).

The total area of the International Reserve today is 1725220 hectars.

DIPA is:

• wetlands of international importance (Ramsar Convention);

• the Daursky and Dalainor reserves were included into the network of UNESCO biosphere reserves;

• at present the question of including the international protected area into UNESCO List of World Nature
  Heritage is being discussed.
